The history of Two Hoots

Two Hoots began life in 1723, as a barn attached to Church House Farm. It remained that way until the mid 1990's, when the barn was converted into the Heartbeat Exhibition Centre, displaying props, photos, materials and information about the Heartbeat TV series and the characters. The exhibition centre finally closed and moved to Whitby in 2003.

In 2007, work began on the complete refurbishment of the barn, and conversion into a luxury cottage, which is now known as "Two Hoots" You can see the results of all the hard work on
our rooms page.

What is now the kitchen and the whole of the downstairs area, was once the cow byre, and the lounge was the pig sty.

Two Hoots is now a self catering holiday cottage, fitted and equipped to the very highest standard, and is available for booking all year round. For prices and availability, please see our "tariff" page, or click here.
